Research Report: Role of Traf3 in Anxiety-Like Behavior and Fear Response
Preview
This report, “Role of Traf3 in Anxiety-Like Behavior and Fear Response,” represents my Laidlaw Scholars Program Research Project, conducted under the supervision of Lina Oh and Dr. Alexei Bygrave at the Tufts School of Medicine. My project focused on determining whether the behavioral phenotypes observed in the broader knockout mouse line, vGat-Traf3 KO, were driven by Parvalbumin (PV)-expressing interneurons specifically. By performing a behavioral battery on a group of PV-Traf3 KO mice, I will identify whether or not similar phenotypes are observed. This work contributes to a deeper understanding of inhibitory interneurons' role in psychiatric disorder susceptibility, which may ultimately better the development of more effective treatments.
