LiA Storybook: Teo y las gafas superpoderosas (Teo and the Super-Powered Glasses)

This is the Spanish-language picture book I created during my Learning in Action placement at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona, working with the strategy and patient access team. It explains how CAR-T cell therapy works to children aged roughly five to nine who are about to start treatment, and to their friends and classmates.
The story follows Mara, a seven-year-old girl, and Teo, one of her T cells. Cancer cells hide from Teo in disguises, and CAR-T gives him super-powered glasses that let him see through them. That metaphor mirrors how the real therapy works, and each page follows an actual stage of treatment, from collecting the cells to the fever and tiredness afterwards.
The aim is simple: a child starting CAR-T should understand what is happening in their body, know it isn't their fault, and feel proud of the treatment rather than frightened of it. The book is designed for use in hospitals and schools across Spain.
