This research aims to understand the innovation activities in the Northeast region, focusing on the various entities that support innovation and entrepreneurship in different ways. Specifically, the study will examine the reasons for the variations in these support programs, with a particular emphasis on "Innovate UK," a government-implemented innovation program that provides financial and training support to promote innovation nationwide.

However, the utilization of "Innovate UK" funds and services in the Northeast region is currently low. Therefore, this research will critically analyze the implementation strategy of the Innovate UK program, aiming to identify the underlying factors contributing to this phenomenon. Additionally, the government intends to develop the Northeast region of England into the next "Silicon Valley" due to its similarities in terms of its composition, including the presence of several top universities.

Drawing on a comparison between Silicon Valley and the Northeast region, this study will examine the similarities and differences between the two and apply relevant theories of innovation and entrepreneurship. The ultimate goal is to provide suggestions for practical improvements in the policy over the next 10 years.
