The research essay focusses on CT number to Hounsfield Unit conversion as a source of uncertainty in proton beam therapy as well as a discussing the use of Analytical algorithms vs Monte Carlo algorithms to calculate the dose distribution. These uncertainties are essential to study due to their vital role in enhancing performance of the treatment and reducing side effects.
