Receiving the Laidlaw Leadership and Research Scholarship was a daunting moment for me, as I struggled with self-doubt despite wanting this opportunity. My journey, shaped by chronic major depressive disorder, taught me that confidence can coexist with vulnerability. Through my research on neurodegeneration and my Leadership in Action project in Argentina, I discovered that true leadership is about building connections and amplifying voices. Collaborating with organizations like Voluntario Global and working with the community reinforced my belief in empathy and resilience. I’m deeply grateful for the support I've received along the way.
