With the support of Cornell's CALS Charitable Trust, I traveled to Kisumu, Kenya to participate in the East Africa Circular Economy Workshop co-hosted by Poverty and Health Integrated Solutions and Cornell University. My upcoming Summer '23 Laidlaw Leadership in Action (LiA) work is informed by and relies on connections forged in this trip.
I'd like to acknowledge Laidlaw Scholar Kiran Ganga's report "The Impacts of Harmful Algal Blooms in Lake Victoria, Kenya" for directing me toward literature on eutrophication and microscystin in Lake Victoria.
