'Zikomo' as Zambian say, means ´thank you’ in Nyanja/Chewa language.
This is my final week. I really admired having to adapt to uncertainty. I wondered how my classes this week will look like, and how engaging enough they will be for my learners. I really admired seeing myself capable to become like a box full of ideas 💡; in such short amount of time, especially in this week.
From preparing a basketball session for the grade 3-4, to teaching phonics to grade 2, and adapting my French lessons for each individual grade.
{Grade 3/4 doing their first CTS Sport lesson on Basketball}
HIGHLIGHTS:
- On Tuesday, the children from Grade 3/4, were the first one to test it (picture shown above). They were so happy and excited to test basketball with a proper Basketball. Their happiness made me happy.
- I had a fun social study lesson too, with Grade 2s. Where I have presented the different nationalities that Zambia welcomes within the country. Such as Indians, Lebanese, Chinese people. It was so interesting in that moment to see the kids openness to discover it.
CHALLENGES:
-The thoughts on leaving.
-Looking out for a ball around the vast amount of shopping malls available in town, in Lusaka. I ended up finding it for a good price and quality, at the shopping mall, known as 'Manda Hill'.
