Georgetown University

Workshop Post

Follow-up on July 7th Workshop

Throughout the summer, the Laidlaw Programme has provided me with invaluable insight into the world of academic research, showing me the skills necessary to work with diverse parties, liaise with organizations and gather information not present in university libraries. The soft skills I gained will be of vital importance in my future professional career as an analyst or researcher. In the academic sphere, as I move forward with my sophomore year at Georgetown, I expect to face many more demanding papers with heavier assigned literature. The skills I honed will certainly help me excel in the years ahead. In addition, I have also learned more about the intersectionalities in society, namely religion and sociology. Being a culturally-aware and well-informed person is essential to being a Hoya, in my opinion. I am proud to have gained all those skills and experiences under the Laidlaw Programme.
