What went well?
The progress I made; what was achieved and done
-
Team presentation 1 (presented on cultural fluency with my group). Although I was not able to present in person due to illnesses, one of the groupmates took over my part smoothly. Thanks, Camellia.
-
Understood more on the psychological and mental health-related issues in Fiji. This provided solid background information for the designation of the tool kit.
-
Understood the role of family and community in Fiji (shared lots of similarities with Chinese) + cooking session (a pity that I could not taste the dish in person, but it was an eye-opening experience to see different ways of cooking)
What could have been done differently?
Things that did not get done and/or could be changed
- There was some disputes when our group was preparing for the presentation. I could have be more accepting to opinions from the groupmates.
What did I learn about myself when working with others?
Contributions, behaviours and values I exhibited
- I am afraid of getting negative feedbacks from the fellow groupmates.
What did I learn about leadership?
Leadership attributes and insights I developed
- Understood that receiving feedbacks is a critical step of learning. Even leaders have to be welcoming to feedbacks.
What do I want to develop or focus on next?
What I still need to develop
- Don’t take negative feedbacks personally. But rather think of possible reasons for the disputes. For example, if the disputes come from misunderstandings, then think of ways to improve communications.
