Summary: For the past six weeks, I’ve been researching the representation of gender-based violence and feminicide in contemporary Latin American and Latinx art, and how artistic practices engage with politics, activism, and the feminist social movements in Latin America, the U.S. and elsewhere. My project examines how two different contemporary artists of Latin American origin, Judithe Hernández and Lorena Wolffer, approach the issue of gender-based violence and feminicide through their artworks.
