Hello, nice to meet you! I am Raina, an undergraduate student studying Applied Artificial Intelligence in the University of Hong Kong. My research topic is using artificial intelligence (AI) to turn a mobile smartphone into a stethoscope. What we want to do in this project is to build an AI-assisted mobile application on smartphones to perform cardiovascular disease early screening.
Hello! I am a second-year undergraduate student majoring in chemistry at the University of Hong Kong. My research topic is about developing an electrocatalytic method to upcycle chloride ion (Cl-) derived from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a commonly used plastic product, into hypochlorite ion (OCl-), which is an active ingredient of bleach.
Feel free to have a chat with me!
I am currently a LLB student at Durham University.
My research is focusing on whether the Bar Training Course (the vocational component on the path to becoming a barrister) sufficiently prepares prospective barristers for online advocacy and an increasingly digitalised workplace. This research project stems from my interest in the future of the legal profession, and also my questioning of why there is not much research done into the future of the English Bar more broadly.
Interestingly, my research is a blend of law and business as my supervisor is an academic within the Business department. Hopefully bringing in this different perspective will help to open up my research further and help me to approach the law from a different perspective.
Please feel free to reach out to discuss anything related to law or business or just to have a general chat because I'm really looking forward to getting to know more Laidlaw scholars!
Hi, my name is Pearls (She/Her); I am a second-year Law LLB student at Leeds.
My first-year research measured the impact of gamifying learning on improving the attainment score and content retention levels of ethnic minority and socio-economically disadvantaged students at Multi-Academy Trusts.
I co-founded the Leeds University branch of the 93% Club and acted as its Schools Outreach Officer for nearly two years. In recent years I have volunteered at my local Citizens Advice. I will be tutoring primary level English as part of the Laidlaw Foundation’s tutoring initiative with The Tutor Association.
This June, I will be embarking on a year-long placement as a Contract Management Intern at The Walt Disney Company.
Hi! I am Hillary from The University of Hong Kong majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. My research aims to create a compound that specifically targets a cancer-related protein, and to investigate its mechanism and efficacy.
