About patricia lofthouse
With a first degree from Leeds and an MBA, Pat has held a number of Director roles in both the private sector, the NHS and Higher Education. She became the first senior female manager in a national firm of Builders Merchants ,held a number of specialist Leadership Development roles and became HR Director of a large acute hospital trust in Yorkshire when she was 33. HR Director roles followed in a national retailer and an international industrial organisation-both in the FTSE top 100. Pat joined the University of York in 2006 and was a member of the executive team and HR Director before being asked to join as CEO of the new Laidlaw Programme in 2017.
With over 30 years involvement in a wide range of sectors and companies ,she has an enduring belief in the ability of learning and development to make a difference in any organisation and the need for training effective leaders at all levels being a core part of this.
Pat works from home in North Yorkshire but travels on a regular basis to the member universities.
