I am a senior biochemistry student at Tufts University. For the pas two summers, I was grateful to be a Laidlaw Scholar pursuing independent research in protein biochemistry in the Scheck Lab at Tufts University. There, I aim to better understand and observe a spontaneous chemical modification to proteins by sugars and sugar metabolites that is implicated in numerous chronic diseases from Diabetes to Alzheimer's and remains poorly understood. After graduation in the Spring of 2020, I plan to attend Tufts University School of Medicine through their Early Assurance Program. Career interests include: public health, global health, emergency medicine, disaster management and planning, biochemistry and medical research.
