British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR20)

Started 4 months ago

Hi everyone!

I'd like to let everyone know about an opportunity coming up at the University of Leeds. We will be hosting the British Conference of Undergraduate Research on 6-7th April 2020! This is a conference for undergraduates, and it's an amazing opportunity for Laidlaw Scholars to exhibit their research posters or give oral presentations. Entry is open to all undergraduates currently studying at a UK-based institution. Here's some info that you can share with your scholars!

We are now accepting submissions for abstracts for the British Conference of Undergraduate Research, to be held at the University of Leeds, 6-7 April 2020. BCUR is the largest conference in the UK dedicated exclusively to undergraduate research.

Undergraduates of all levels are invited to submit papers, to present posters, creative show and tell, oral presentations and performances to the Conference. Abstracts are peer-reviewed and those accepted will be invited to attend the conference. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is midnight Sunday 5th January 2020. Once abstract submissions have closed, all abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of reviewers. Applicants will either be accepted or given the opportunity to review their abstract for resubmission. All students asked to resubmit will be given specific feedback on areas for improvement. You will be contacted by email with the outcome of your submission before 31st January 2020.

You might be working on a dissertation, or you may have devised your own topic for an assessment. You might have worked with an external company, or worked with a researcher over the summer to help them with their research project.

All research is welcome at this conference, in any discipline taught in Higher Education. If you are unsure whether your work fits, get in touch, or talk to your tutor to find out how to get involved.

Confirmation of those invited to participate in BCUR20 will be released before the 31st January 2020.

Registration details will be made available from the 4th February 2020
