Osowobi was awarded a Genius Grant from the MacArthur Foundation in 2017. In 2019, she was named as one of Time’s 100 Next Leaders of Tomorrow, becoming the second Nigerian woman to make the list. She was also named as the Commonwealth Youth Person of the Year for 2019, and is a Young Leader for the SDGs, endorsed by the United Nations. Osowobi is one of 200 Obama Young Leaders: Africa.

We are featuring Oluwaseun Osowobi in celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, taking place this week on November 25th.

This marks the beginning of the annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence campaign (25 November — 10 December) which this year will address increased violence & gender injustice brought about by the COVID19 pandemic, with the theme: "Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!".
