I cannot believe it's almost the end! My final presentation is in two days, my flight is on Saturday, I'm already beginning to say my goodbyes to people I feel like I met only yesterday.

At the same time, I'm kinda ready to go home: I think I might be too European in temperament for this aggressively grid based city.

We had our AGM, our Annual General Meeting, last Saturday. Most of my work last week was built around writing scripts, organising a raffle, painting a ballot box. It was so cool to see such a diverse coalition of activists and community members at the event, and to get to talk to some urban planners doing incredible work. I think it's safe to say that after this internship I can definitely call myself an urbanist!

As for my database project, I feel that I have fused with this spreadsheet. I went back to the archives for the final time yesterday and could work through it 10x faster than I could at the beginning. I'm rarely able to work for long periods of time without breaks, but at the property tax assessment rolls I have to consciously remind myself that I still need to drink water. I think the presentation should go pretty well, I'm looking forward to it! I'm going to bring some salsa made with tomatoes grown in the community garden for everyone.

Well done on getting to this point Luke! It is fantastic to hear how you have not only grown in temperament and professionally but also technical skill! Good luck for your presentation and I look forward to hearing more when you return!
