Hi everyone! Thanks for showing up in our first meeting! If you didn't make it to attend, here is the summary of what we discussed about:

  1. Participation: This includes participating both on Laidlaw scholars network in STEM Subject Room particularly on the discussion post shared by giving ideas and your thoughts on it. By this we'll be building a supportive community where we keep learning from each other. We also have the WhatsApp group which we'll keep using for the informal discussion and also in asking questions.
  2. Activities: We'll be having 2 networking sessions in a month. At the end of 2 weeks, we'll be sharing our journey as Laidlaw scholars (this is still being organized and we'll let you know the plan on this) and at the end of the month (2nd session), we'll discuss and conclude about the discussion post which will have been on the Laidlaw scholars network for a month.

The first discussion post will be on Laidlaw scholars network by Monday 18th and it's good if we start to engage in the discussion. For any question, please let me know.

I am looking forward to meeting you all in our next session. Thank you!

STEM Subject Lead, University of Rwanda

I am an engineering student at the University of Rwanda. I am studying Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. My project is about bringing a system that could help in minimizing the number of high-school and primary students who bring cell phones at school, since it's one of major sources of distraction. I am very interested in IoT (Internet of Things) related fields. I enjoy challenging myself because it always helps me to step out of my comfort zone.
