Happy Labor Day to all our friends in the United States and Canada!
Today, we celebrate the achievements of workers, especially trade unionists who "marched, protested and participated in strikes in order to create fairer, more equitable labor laws and workplaces" (source), including winning the right to rest on the weekend, work a 40-hour week, and have paid time off, which many enjoy today.
On this special day, let's take a moment to recognise the importance of rest. Hard work is important but needs to be sustainable - what matters most is persistence and determination. Remember to listen to your body and hit pause when needed to make sure you can keep going.
Muhammad Ali (1942-2016) was an American professional boxer, activist and philanthropist. He is widely considered one of the most celebrated sportspeople of the 20th century and the best heavyweight boxer of all time. Ali was the first fighter to win the world heavyweight championship on three separate occasions and successfully defended this title 19 times.
