Our first residential for was in Weetwood Hall - a hotel in Leeds.

This was a great opportunity to get to know our cohort, learn more about our next two years with Laidlaw and begin learning about leadership development. These two days involved a range of activities from experiential learning to a dinner where we met fellow scholars and university personnel.

The following week, we took to the Yorkshire Dales, staying in a university owned building in Selside. This residential offered a very different experience as we spent our few days walking, caving, ghyll scrambling, cooking and various other activities.

These experiences challenged everyone and pushed us outside our comfort zones which played a big part in developing our resilience and collaboration with each other.

Overall, the two residentials offered very different but equally valuable experiences which has prepared us for our research projects and future opportunities.
