RESEARCH REFLECTION: What I've Learned

Like

During my Laidlaw Scholarship, I aimed to conduct extensive data analysis on solar energy adoption in Singapore and Hyderabad. However, I soon encountered a major challenge: Hyderabad lacked accessible public government data, unlike Singapore. This forced me to adapt my approach by relying on public policy papers for insights.

The scholarship enabled me to travel and meet with industry experts and companies in both countries. I had the chance to discuss Building Integrated PV panels with leading specialists. My supervisor’s guidance was invaluable, offering meaningful feedback and advice throughout the research. Despite challenges, this experience broadened my perspective on policy analysis and flexibility in research methods.

I’m satisfied with what I’ve achieved during this project. Working on the scholarship has helped me refine my career goals, confirming my interest in sustainability and renewable energy. I now know this is the industry I want to work in after graduation. Looking ahead, I plan to focus my Leadership in Action (LiA) project on renewable energy development in India, if possible. It feels like a natural next step and an opportunity to apply what I’ve learned so far.
