This research examines the historical ties between the University of Leeds and Latin America. During the summer, I plan to uncover significant moments of academic and cultural exchange through archival research, educational engagement, cultural exchange, and institutional connection. The research will also address knowledge gaps in the current understanding of this history and contribute to the build-up for the 2026 Society for Latin American Studies Conference, which will take place in Leeds.

I will collaborate closely with academic supervisors from the Schools of Languages and Politics to identify relevant sources, create a research framework, and initiate preliminary archival work. Furthermore, I intend to conduct interviews and independently develop a creative or digital output, such as an exhibition, timeline, or digital archive, to share the project's findings with a broader audience. Through this endeavour, I aspire to enhance the university's understanding of its global connections while developing my skills in research, collaboration, and public engagement.
