The research project that I am working on this summer is titled 'Mapping Capstone Projects in Sustainability Programs', with Noleen Chikowore from the School of Earth and Environment as my project supervisor.

This research is important, as despite the growing commitment from educational institutions to move away from the 'one size fits all' traditional dissertation, to capstone projects, there has been little done to assess the success of their design.

I will be conducting a literature review to critically evaluate the design, implementation, and impact of capstone projects related to sustainability. The review will focus on analysing the similarities and differences in the outcomes and goals of capstone projects from a diverse range of program contexts. It will identify the best practices in the design, implementation, and assessment of capstone projects.

The project uses a systematic literature review with inclusion and exclusion criteria to select relevant literature, collated from databases available through the University of Leeds.
