Our Laidlaw Research Project & Invitation for Interviews with AI Leaders
I have been conducting research on decision making processes of leaders in the AI space together with Eugenia Brotons Batista, Sudha Jagatheesh Jayanand, Vamshi Darisi, and Sameera Anand. So far, we have had the privilege to interview C-suite utilising AI to tackle business problems, EU policymakers leading the writing of the EU AI Act, and prominent researchers performing cutting edge research. We have been exploring the different value drivers behind these leaders’ AI strategies and particularly how they interact to enrich the AI decisions with their unique expertise. Alongside this, we have been surveying the public on their use of AI and perceptions of AI’s welfare effects. We are glad to already have over 100 responses and would appreciate it much if you could also take 5 minutes to fill our survey and share the survey with your family and friends, which I’m providing a link to below.
To take this one step further, we are seeking to get in touch with CEOs and C-suite members of leading AI developers, such as OpenAI, Anthropic Microsoft, Alphabet (Google), Meta and more. We feel like our project would be further complemented if we can understand the rolling out of AI products by these influential companies. This would get at the heart of how AI companies make decisions with regards to launching and improving their AI products. We would be grateful if you could let us know of any contacts in this field so that we could also incorporate their insights to our project. We cannot wait to complete our analysis and share our final paper with you soon.
