Before starting my LiA, I did not know what to expect when volunteering with refugees. I knew the organization was not a camp for individuals, but rather a distribution facility that provided clothing. I previously had experience working in retail, so I assumed the work would be similar. I was excited to meet people from various backgrounds and help with humanitarian relief. I was excited to see what would come and hoped to have an enjoyable and transformative experience.
