My second week in Medellin was just as eventful as the first. Visiting local community centers in Picacho, organizing activites with the local children, and being able to take part in exciting dance sessions were all highlights of the week's activities. Of course, we also went to our leadership camp in Guatape as well, where we were able to wind down after almost two weeks of daily activities. It was there where I caught a case of the flu and was put out of commission for the weekend... Although my experience with Guatape ended in illness, I found it valuable as I was able to bond with my fellow groupmates and experience the natural beauty of the Colombian countryside.

The second week of programming through makesense also coincided with a redoubled effort towards our project with El Derecho a No Obedecer. We embarked on several brainstorming sessions within our group and decided to narrow our focus down to the creation of a student group within the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana that would support community moblization in El Faro, an unrecognized community in Medellin. Narrowing down a list of potential contacts within the university, we began to set up the structure and objectives of this organization with the hopes of recruiting student volunteers for this initiative. The Cultural Fair was a scheme organized by makesense to do exactly that: recruit volunteers for our individual projects. Seeing the turnout and interest from UPB students was very motivational, and we were very pleased at the overall level of engagement. Hopefully that would translate into a dedicated batch of student volunteers.

Week 2 was much like the first week in Medellin: hectic and filled with activity. But for the first time, our projects and team cohesion were beginning to develop in tangible ways.
