What went well?
The progress I made; what was achieved and done
During this week, we finalised the project and briefed the volunteers on what they had to do. We came up with some ideas to garner more action like creating a cutlery collection campaign to return cutlery to various restaurant and created posters to educate the general public about recycling. Overall, it was a productive week.
What could have been done differently?
Things that did not get done and/or could be changed
With our social media campaign, we are finding it difficult to gain likes, comments, and followers. We have attempted to make the post more eye catching and interactive, and add more relevant hashtags.
What did I learn about myself when working with others?
Contributions, behaviours and values I exhibited
I learnt that all successful projects will have times of failure and that one must be determined and curios to create solutions instead of giving up. Since we are at the final stage of planning, we created prototype of our solution and had to consider many options before settling on the one we though was the best.
What did I learn about leadership?
Leadership attributes and insights I developed
This week, I had to critically think about the effectiveness of our project and the potential impact our project might have. As a result, we must consider many different points of view and place ourselves in unfamiliar perspectives. Despite this pushing me out of my comfort zone, it was a great challenge and made me a better and creating thinker.
What do I want to develop or focus on next?
What I still need to develop
With our action portion of our project starting next week, we need to work on evenly distributing the work load between us and the volunteers, and to make sure to maintain the interest of the volunteers to create an effective work environment.
