A wise person once said, "All good things must come to an end," and, alas, my time in Mexico City is about to end. This week, I spent a lot of time reflecting on my experiences here. I finished my project deliverables last week, and the only thing left to do was to give my final presentation to Las Sabinas with my team. It was bittersweet going back to the office one last time. On one hand, I felt proud of our work and ready to go home, but it also felt strange to leave this office where we spent myriad hours working. We gave our final presentation to Las Sabinas, and they were happy with the work we completed. At the end of our presentation, they told us they had a gift for us. They told us to close our eyes, and then they placed something in our hands. We opened our eyes, and in our hands were a card and a box. On the cards contained a watercolor painting of our puppet and a heartfelt note, and inside the box was a wooden version of our puppet. I'll be honest: I cried. 

In the moment, it was hard to envision the impact making 5 puppets and 5 games was gonna have on the world. But seeing how proud the people at Las Sabinas were and hearing that our puppets will be used next week to work with kids demonstrated how important what I did over the past 6 weeks was. Before we left, Pam and Claudia from Las Sabinas took us to lunch (spoiler: it was really good) and told us that they really want to keep in contact with us and that we are Sabinas for the rest of our lives. It was a really powerful way to wrap up my time working with Las Sabinas and Mexico City. I've experienced so much love, joy, and pride over the past 6 weeks that I will never forget. My time here has been transformational and opened my eyes to ways to work at the intersection of Education and Psychology that aren't entirely research-based. This experience will definitely carry into all my endeavors, and I'm proud to say that I worked with Make_Sense and Las Sabinas.
