During my second week in the LiA program, I strengthened my relationship with my supervisor and continued exploring more of Washington, D.C. As I dive deeper into my Surveillance Timeline project, I am realizing just how much ground there is to cover, and how short six weeks already feels.

Thankfully, my supervisor at the ADC has been an excellent resource. She supports me not only with content and research references but also with guidance on structure and pacing. She has made herself incredibly available whenever challenges arise. This week, she helped me narrow my focus to social media surveillance policies, which has given my project a clearer direction. She also connected me with a member of the organization’s legal team, who offered valuable insight into the legal/criminal aspects of these policies. I feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a welcoming and knowledgeable team.

Over the weekend, I got to experience a Fourth of July in D.C. by going to a baseball game and watching fireworks at the Wharf. I am really enjoying getting to know the city, and I look forward to exploring more neighborhoods around the DMV in the coming weeks.
