For my LIA project, I am joining the Crime in Latin American project headed by University of Oslo-- working with academics from Oslo,  Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile! I've been tasked with identifying ways to establish preventative and transformative practices in communities that are impacted by crime, while learning and applying the impact of life-course trajectories and cultural narratives on an individual, community, and system. This is similar to my time at Columbia Justice Lab, where I also worked on projects tied to Criminal Justice and recidivism prevention. However, this project has been directly more engaging with individuals who are impacted by  Crime and Criminal Justice systems, and is more large-scaled compared to the work I did at Columbia Justice Lab. Additionally, this project seeks to establish inter-connectivity between countries while attempting to theorize and (micro-level) solve the dependency of crime within communities and labor markets.

This photo is of the kitchen in my home-stay in Oslo. I spend most of my time here, as my host have so much fresh herbs and ingredients to utilize (+ a chef-grade iron skillet!). It also has a great view, and a patio where I sometimes watch the sunset.

Wow Kianna that sounds like a super enriching experience - I love that you were able to build off of your work with the Justice Lab last year!
