It's hard to believe that I am already halfway through my Leadership in Action project in Mexico City!

I've had an incredible time working with Rennueva, through the MakeSense programme, and I am proud of the work me and my group have accomplished, along with being excited for what the next few weeks may bring as we complete our project. 

Having had a productive day with Hector and the Rennueva team the previous week, much of this week focused on further researching logistical and legal specifics for our project, but also beginning to move away from researching our project, and moving into prototyping.

The week began with more learning of the Design Thinking strategy we have been utilising in our projects. As previously mentioned, I have found this to be incredibly engaging as it is a new strategy that has allowed me to think outside the box and learn new methods of learning that I hadn't previously explored. 

We used the methods of physical prototyping to make our ideas physically, which was really useful for exploring where we had made positive progress, but also where we needed to improve and fill in more gaps in our solutions. Prototyping has been an incredibly useful tool to manage and test our project.

We also visited Hagamos Composta, one of the other programmes working with MakeSense. Visiting their waste centre in the countryside was a beautiful change in scenery from the hustle and bustle of Mexico City, and it was very interesting to learn about the different projects.

We finished off the working week with Rennueva, where we spent more time with the team developing the project into its next stages. The language barrier is sometimes difficult and creates complications, however this only adds to the challenge and fulfillment at the end of it. 

At the weekend, some of us scholars took a weekend trip to Puebla, which was absolutely stunning, and helped add to my cultural enrichment that I have been incredibly fortunate to recieve throughout.
