Over the past two days, I have had the pleasure of attending the Laidlaw leadership development residential to welcome the 2023 cohort of Laidlaw scholars. As a third year scholar, it has been a great opportunity to facilitate sessions for the new cohort and share my Laidlaw wisdom as well as reconnecting with my cohort following my placement year.

I had the opportunity to present to other cohorts of scholars on cultural awareness in the Leadership in Action period and shared my experience in Fiji. I also touched on my placement year at Pfizer and how the Laidlaw scholarship has expedited my progress and development in such an early stage of my career.

I took part in an insightful careers session, writing my elevator pitch and exploring how I can best use my time in the scholarship to stand out to employers. We had practice with transactional networking, building our connections and learning about the cohort's innovative and impactful research projects.

Additionally, we were treated to a networking dinner event, again building meaningful connections and attended various key notes presentations on working through adversity.

I would once again like to thank the Laidlaw Foundation and the incredible team at the University of Leeds for providing another amazing and impactful residential.
