Last 3 weeks of my project;(
So, here we are..
Almost done with my whole Laidlaw project. I cannot believe my own eyes at this point. How fast have these 6 weeks passed. Incredible. It was truly a changing experience, full of difficulties and new lessons, knowledge, and innovative ideas. When I started collecting data, so testing participants, I could not believe it. I was being an active researcher who is contributing to the field of science. Amazing, is not it? So young but so full of commitment and desire to make an impact.
Even during the testing, small issues aroused but that is the beauty of it, right? A real study cannot happen if you do not encounter certain obstacles that will challenge your patience and self-trust . The key is to not let yourself discouraged and solve the problem as soon as possible, so that it will not have a noticeable effect on the overall experiment and data collected. Being able to calm myself and find the right solution, alone or with the help of my supervisor, made me realise how important self-control and patience is for a person. Being it in the lab or not, resilience and endurance are key skills for one’s own success.
Now, we are just waiting for a couple more participants and then we are ready for the write-up of my poster and essay.
Wish me luck!
Yours,
Alessia
