Friday 4th July

This week has made me realise how fulfilling being busy is. I have compared this week to all other periods shortly after I finish a really intense exam season and have tended to sort of fall into a pit of despair because there are so many things I planned for my ‘a level’ or ‘gcse’ summer but with all the free time that I had, the motivation was not there to propel me into action. This was not to say I didn't want to do things that I had planned; there was just some mysterious mental block that had a mind of its own.

Like before I have an elaborate list of all the hobbies I want to get back into, made in the midst of exam season when I was yearning for the summer to come quickly. This time things have been different. I have not had as much free time, there are people other than myself relying on me and holding me accountable and so the mysterious mental block does not have as much of a hold over me. My time is already filled with discussions and tasks that are such a source of fulfillment so that it only makes sense for the time in between to be held to a similar standard. This summer plan of mine is coming into fruition thanks to being busy.

In terms of the project, I am so curious and intrigued by the topic I was assigned. I find myself asking question on question on question which I think is a good sign. I’m working on university engagement which for me is the most fulfilling aspect of the entire initiative.
