Laidlaw Retreat

It's only the second day of the Laidlaw retreat, and I’m already feeling a mix of excitement, curiosity, and a little bit of nervousness.

Starting this journey feels both exciting and slightly overwhelming, but in the best way possible.

One of the highlights so far has been meeting my cohort members. Everyone is incredibly inspiring, thoughtful, and fun to talk to, and I’m really excited to work alongside them this summer. The only challenge now is trying to remember everyone’s names before the next activity starts, which has honestly become a skill on its own.

The retreat has already pushed me out of my comfort zone in ways I didn’t expect, but it’s also reminded me how exciting it is to be surrounded by people who are passionate about making an impact in different ways. Every conversation I’ve had so far has made me even more excited for what this summer might hold.

I’m also looking forward to exploring New York, trying new experiences, and making the most of this opportunity. Overall, I’m excited for the growth, friendships, and memories that this summer will bring, and hopefully by the end of it.
