Laidlaw LiA week 4 Reflection

What went well?

The progress I made; what was achieved and done

We presented our group project on how to solve local issues with global approach. As my teammates are all very responsible and knowledgeable, we have learned a lot throughout the whole progress, as well as practiced new research skills.

What could have been done differently?

Things that did not get done and/or could be changed

Maybe we can add in some local examples in Hong Kong for references in other to bring a more concrete and practical examples to the concerned topic. By doing so, I believe that our presentation can go further instead of just tackling the Fijian problems.

What did I learn about myself when working with others?

Contributions, behaviours and values I exhibited

I learned that I can practice my previous knowledge in the presentation as I have studied relevant courses before. Therefore, when applying to the presentation, I found it easier for me to write a draft and come up with points; also, as I have done similar researches before, I understand that I can provide concrete ideas to others or understand others’ ideas more.

What did I learn about leadership?

Leadership attributes and insights I developed

I understand that leadership requires skills in division of labor. As we have 4 topics and 5 group mates, the leadership role in our group takes vital importance to make sure no one is left out or others’ workload are too heavy. Thus, the leadership role in a group project needs to make sure the operation is fair and everyone is happy about it.

What do I want to develop or focus on next?

What I still need to develop

The final project - creating posters for mental health promotion, concerned topics: psychotic disorder and substances uses disorder.
