What went well?

The progress I made; what was achieved and done

We have allocated our team work for the presentation next week on the question of “can international efforts apply to local problems”. During the research, we found an array of information with regarding to Fijian issues, together with international/ global solutions that may solve the problem. We hope that we can bring a better future to the world in tackling the health problems (my part) after this project.

What could have been done differently?

Things that did not get done and/or could be changed

I think we need to have better team communications and allocations at the beginning when setting the framework of the project. Luckily, we figured it out now.

Week 3

What did I learn about myself when working with others?

Contributions, behaviours and values I exhibited

The values that I examined is that I am more suitable to be a doer instead of a leader. During the internship, I feel like I do not have the leadership features to group or lead the team together. It is not saying that I am looking down on myself, but I am more comfortable in following instructions and at most giving suggestions.

What did I learn about leadership?

Leadership attributes and insights I developed

I learned that leadership requires strong agenda setting and direction setting abilities. As for our project, directions and structures are very important for a successful presentation. Therefore, the leadership roles in our group have done a great job in work allocation to bring fairness and balanced workload to every one of us. I am very grateful to have a team of responsible group mates and leaders.

What do I want to develop or focus on next?

What I still need to develop

I need to develop my research skills when digging into the problems that I have never done so before. For example, this time I need to find the linkage between Fiji government and the international government, and I spent quite a while in figuring that out. Therefore, I need to improve my research and materials comprehension skills in the future.
