We launched the Laidlaw Women in Business Scholarship to give exceptional women the education and networks to achieve equal representation and power in business, regardless of their background.

With over 300 women having earned their business degrees as Laidlaw Scholars, we are now delighted to announce our new inter-School Society, the Laidlaw Women In Business Society!

Mission

We aim to empower current scholars and alumni to achieve their full potential in their careers and in their lives.  We do this by fostering connections between Laidlaw Foundation Women in Business Scholars and providing support to encourage, enable and facilitate their active involvement in business during their studies and post MBA.

Vision

Our vision is to build a strong Woman In Business sisterhood which uplifts, inspires and supports each other as we work together to elevate women into leadership positions, regardless of their socioeconomic status.  We aim to blaze a path forward for young women and girls who aspire to lead.

We are also pleased to introduce our newly appointed Co-Presidents of the Laidlaw Women in Business Society, Laidlaw Alumni Society, Paseka Khosa (Saïd Business School) and Priyal Keni (London Business School).

Paseka Khosa

My name is Paseka Khosa-Chavalala, my academic and professional background is in mining engineering and management consulting, and I am currently a Laidlaw Scholar as an MBA candidate at Oxford University, Saïd Business School.

I was born and bred in the small town of Giyani in Limpopo, South Africa (SA), a woman with big dreams, determined to rise above any limitations to see those dreams come true. I am an advocate for unwavering belief in oneself, with a passion for all things women in power. I envision a world where women can set goals with no limitations beyond their control, and I believe it begins with representation in all spaces, industries, and levels. I believe that when women start to occupy spaces where we have previously been excluded, this becomes fertile ground for us to plant more seeds in other young women, an opportunity to open and hold the door for others behind us. What better place to start than within our Laidlaw Foundation Women In Business circle.

Priyal Keni

Chartered Accountant, International Rifle Shooter, Social Entrepreneur and a 5-time TEDx Speaker.  I started off my career as a professional rifle shooter - representing India for 7 years as a member of the Indian rifle shooting team and winning +110 medals before pivoting into consulting with my most recent stint being with Deloitte. Currently I am pursuing my MBA at London Business School on full scholarship - thanks to the generous support of the Laidlaw foundation and continuing to work in parallel on scaling my social venture back in India. I am also one of the top 30 individuals selected globally by UN Women to be a part of the 30 for 2030 network, working with the regional office of the Asia Pacific with a focus on accelerating the 2030 agenda.
