Dear Laidlaw Scholar,

Congratulations on being accepted to the Laidlaw Undergraduate Research and Leadership Scholarship Programme! You have joined an exclusive global network of diverse, committed, next generation leaders who embrace research, make data-driven decisions and believe that there is a moral imperative to act with integrity.

You are invited to the Global Induction Session, which will take place via Zoom on Tuesday June 9th 3PM-4:30PM BST (10AM-11:30AM EST).

During the session you will be welcomed by team members of the Laidlaw Foundation, including Lord Laidlaw, who will talk about the purpose of the programme, the different parts of the Foundation, and what you can expect to gain from your experience as a Laidlaw Scholar.

You will also hear from programme alumni and scholars from last year's cohorts who will share their experiences with you.

Please register for the Session before Thursday 4th of June, 23:59PM EST.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in a networking session afterwards to connect with Laidlaw Scholars from universities around the world!

You need to register for the networking session separately, and there are only 450 spaces available, so make sure to secure your spot as soon as possible.

SECURE YOUR PLACE

Please don’t hesitate to email us at contact@laidlawfoundation.com with any questions. The agenda will be posted next week.

See you there!

P.S. We have an introductions thread here, so you can tell the global Laidlaw community a bit about yourself and connect with others!

Nikol Chen (she/her)

Digital Content Manager, Laidlaw Foundation

Hello! My name is Nikol and I look after the Laidlaw Scholars Network.

I am originally from Kazakhstan and I studied Human Sciences at UCL. My final research explored the potential effects of design on patient wellbeing in hospitals, and I also took modules such as Ethnographic Documentary Filmmaking, Anthropology of the Built Environment, Art in the Public Sphere, and other less interesting-sounding things :)

Drop me a line if you have any questions about the site, or if you'd just like to chat! I am always down to meet interesting people, so let's get [virtual] coffee ☕️
