  • What are some of the ethical issues that you are grappling with in your research? What are some of the ways in which you are responding to these questions?

Fortunately, I'm not encountering a lot of ethical issues when working on my research. As I'm solely focusing on studying political history through digital archives, my work tends to be rather simple and uncomplicated on the ethical end. Ensuring I'm following rules and guidelines outlined by my research mentor is perhaps the reason for the lack of ethical questions and challenges.

  • As you continue your research, have you considered alternative viewpoints in your investigation? If so, how have these alternative viewpoints enriched or changed your project?

Yes, I've considered diverse viewpoints in my investigation. As I further explore political dynamics during the late 1960s and early1970s, I've looked at the present and made sense of it. In doing so, I've gained a different angle on how advocacy, politics, and discourse intersect in modern America. While these new viewpoints have a limited role in the development of my work as an RA, they have given me a more nuanced perspective on American politics and government as a whole.

  • Where does your research take place? Take a photo of the place where your ideas and investigations are taking place, and post it to the Network!

Since working in my dorm works for me, my research is mostly taking place in Broadway. However, today I ventured into Butler for the first time in the summer :)

Leo,

It's interesting how these other viewpoints and perspectives from the '60s and the '70s help provide a multi-dimensional lens, like in the spheres of advocacy and politics that you mentioned. Excited to hear how your project progresses!
