Now that June is almost over, I am feeling especially appreciative of my faculty mentor. I spent a good chunk of this month trapped in a literature review spiral that, while interesting, was not particularly productive to drafting my abstract. I think that part of the reason that I remained in that stage for so long was because I had not approached independent research before; I was unsure of my next steps. My faculty mentor was helpful in both providing guidance on getting the most use out of the sources I had collected and pointing me towards the next stage of the research process. Thanks Professor Becher!
