This is a research project looking into the use of academic writings as training data for generative AI such as ChatGPT. I primarily focused on the academic writers' response to their losing grasp of their authority under the context of more and more academic publishers are choosing to publish their works under OpenAccess. I explored the different possibilities of the future of authorship in digital age and made a parallel comparison between AI authors and pharmakon, as it might be the remedy or the poison.
