This project involves developing a series of microkinetic models, each representing a different proposed mechanism for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO₂RR). The models will be used to predict how the reaction proceeds under different electrochemical conditions, with their predictions compared against experimental data to determine which mechanism most accurately describes the reaction.

By identifying which proposed mechanisms best reproduce experimental observations, the project will improve our understanding of how CO₂ is converted into valuable products. This knowledge can help guide the development of more efficient electrocatalysts and support the design of sustainable technologies for carbon capture, renewable fuel production and chemical manufacturing.
