REFLECTIVE REPORT
Due to the unique nature of my first summer as a Leadership and Research scholar at Maggie's Newcastle, I did not pursue any research this summer. Instead of creating a report of any research findings, I have reflected on my experiences at Maggie's and how my leadership skills have progressed.

My Leadership and Research scholarship is in conjunction with Maggie's Newcastle, a support centre for people with cancer located at the Freeman Hospital. My first summer has largely been experience-based, enabling me to cultivate a relationship with cancer patients in order to more thoroughly understand the wider implications of a cancer diagnosis. This will further aid my research next summer in evaluating the effectiveness of psychosocial-based workshops and groups on improving the mental and emotional wellbeing of patients through systematic review protocols.
