This summer, I had the honor of working in the Molecular Helminthology lab at the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine alongside Dr. Patrick Skelly and Dr. Akram Da'Darah. I spent the summer studying novel interventions for schistosomiasis, a neglected tropical disease caused by direct contact with water contaminated with parasitic worms called schistosomes.
