“Beyond the Toolkit” details my six week leadership in action project at the Baytree Centre, a women’s educational charity based in South London. Tasked with redesigning the Maths and Science Toolkits for the Youth Service’s Grow, Enjoy, Move, Study (GEMS) programme my role quickly grew beyond its original brief. From covering for the Mentoring Service to drafting Impact Reports I was given plenty of opportunities to get involved in the organisation beyond my initial project. This poster traces my growth through three key areas: communication skills, initiative and confidence, and problem solving skills, ultimately showing how a project that began as curriculum design became a broader lesson in leadership, confidence, and the value of saying yes to opportunities when they present themselves.
