Hello! My name is Ellesha, I am studying Natural Sciences specialising in Chemistry at the University of York, pursuing an MChem. With a background in Biology and Environment, I am very interested in organic chemistry with medicinal applications, and chemistry with applications in mitigating climate change and promoting sustainable living. I believe the purpose of scientific research is to improve lives and that science is of paramount importance in achieving a sustainable, equal future. My research project studies the effects of enhanced mineral weathering on leachate pH and metal concentrations, soil microbial activity, and plant growth, as a potential geoengineering method utilised to mitigate the effects of climate change.
