Week 5 in Poznań: Challenges, Creativity & Growth

A busy but rewarding week, giving me the opportunity to contribute to Logos through creative campaigns, workshop development, and hands-on organisational improvements.

This week has been a really productive and rewarding week at Logo NGO, with a mixture of creative, strategic, and practical work. One of my main focuses was designing and curating 2–3 social media campaigns, which gave me the opportunity to think more strategically about how we communicate with different audiences and how our content can better reflect Logo NGO's wider aims. I really enjoyed developing ideas, considering what would resonate with our target audience, and thinking about how social media can be used to create greater awareness and engagement around the organisation’s work.

I also spent time planning and promoting a media literacy workshop that I will be facilitating in Week 6 as part of a wider media project Logos NGO is collaborating on. With a relatively short turnaround, I had to quickly research and develop ideas around what would make the workshop engaging and accessible, particularly for a Gen Z audience. This has been a valuable opportunity to develop my research, facilitation, communication, and planning skills, while also thinking about how important media literacy is in helping young people critically engage with the information and content they encounter every day.

A big part of this week was also dedicated to renovating our volunteer room, which we use for internal events and activities. I worked closely with my manager, Katia, to paint, redecorate, and transform the space, while also helping to freshen up our team office. It was a very hands-on experience and definitely pushed me outside my usual responsibilities. We had to work quickly and creatively, particularly when we encountered practical challenges such as not having all the equipment or materials we needed. Despite this, it was really rewarding to see the space develop and become more welcoming and suitable for the volunteers and wider team.

What I particularly enjoyed about this week was the variety of experiences and the opportunity to contribute in different ways. I had to balance my social media responsibilities and workshop preparation alongside the renovation, which challenged me to think about prioritisation, time management, collaboration, and problem-solving. It also gave me the opportunity to be more confident in sharing my ideas and opinions about what I thought would work best for our audiences, while also learning from the people around me.

Overall, I feel that this week has contributed significantly to my development as an emerging leader. I have been able to practise being proactive, collaborative, creative, and adaptable, while also learning that leadership is not necessarily about doing everything yourself. One of my key takeaways is the importance of delegation and creating space for others to contribute. With more volunteers coming in next week, I’m looking forward to putting this into practice, trusting others with responsibilities, and continuing to develop my confidence in leading collaboratively. It has been a busy week, but I’m really proud of the progress we have made and the tangible impact I have been able to contribute to across Logos.
