Hello! This is my first post as a Laidlaw Scholar. I’m really looking forward to the next six weeks of research this summer! I’m finding research a bit daunting, so I've made a weekly outline to feel a bit less overwhelmed. For my research, I’m hoping to conduct interviews and review environmental data records, which I’m really excited about. I have never interviewed people for the sake of research before, so I’m looking forward to exploring what the role of an interviewer is and how I can conduct my interviews in a way that effectively tells the stories to strengthen my environmental history research. I’m super interested in looking through historical records and have been sorting through all sorts of maps, reports, and accounts of the Tocks Island Dam project in Pennsylvania. I can’t wait to get going with interviews and learn more about the environmental and human history of the Delaware Water Gap this summer.
