What went well?
The progress I made; what was achieved and done
At the end of the program, students got an opportunity to showcase their creation. The DDI’s students presented their website with a portfolio on it while THY’s and EAT’s students presented their prototypes. This went well.
What could have been done differently?
Things that did not get done and/or could be changed
Overall, the presentation went smoothly. However, since some of the students submitted their presentation at the last minute, there was no ample time to review some of the completeness of their websites or presentation. Perhaps, in the future, we could encourage students to submit their presentation/website early.
What did I learn about myself when working with others?
Contributions, behaviours and values I exhibited
I learned more about effective communication. When working with others especially during the presentation week, we had to make sure everything was ready. I was responsible for overseeing DDI students’ presentations and forwarding them to Thomas, a fellow scholar from Durham who consolidated presentations from all of the programs.
What did I learn about leadership?
Leadership attributes and insights I developed
Through this experience, I learned about my personal strength and the contribution I could offer as a leader and a team member.
What do I want to develop or focus on next?
What I still need to develop
Moving forward, I intend to integrate the leadership skills I acquired and channel them towards making more impactful contributions to society.
