LIA Week 4

7/27-8/1

I worked this week on finishing some further commentary on the tourism ordinance for district of Ancud (Island of Chiloé) as well as some some additional research for the trash policy report and another seperatete internal report on disinformation. This week I have been reflecting a lot on my time here, and tried to explore as many parts of the city as I can before I leave. I know I have grown so much – in my ability to research and write in Spanish and also my understanding of the policy challenges facing Chile – even in such a relatively short time here. I am so greatful for people in the office at FIMA, whose kind and gracious hospitality has made me feel so welcome. They have taken the time to teach me not only about Chilean environmental policy but also to share about and include me in their life Santiago, inviting me to grab coffee or join in after-work events. They surprised me with a cake on my last day which was so sweet, and made sure to make it clear to stop by if I am ever back in Chile.
